Based in Puna on the Hilo side of the Big Island, Marla first picked up a camera after returning home from driving trucks in Iraq in 2005, discovering photography as a path toward healing and storytelling. Her work has since taken her from weddings in India & Mallorca to fashion shoots in Europe and yoga retreats throughout Costa Rica, Mexico, & across the mainland. A former Army Reserve and newspaper photojournalist, she brings a photojournalistic eye and storyteller's heart to every session.
